PM inaugurates Liquefied Gas Plant in Karak

KARAK: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Haqqan Abbasi inaugurated Liquefied Gas Plant (LPG) in Nashpa area of district Karak here on Thursday and claimed that the project was completed with Rs 20 billion.

While addressing to the inauguration ceremony prime minister informed that OGDCL would get Rs 60 billion annual income from the project. He further added that 400 ton LPG would produce this project on daily basis. Mr Abbasi said that Rs 42 billion has been paid as royalty fund to the Khyber Pakhtunkwa government from the oil and gas produced from this area by the federal government.

He said that Rs 7 billion gas produced in district Karak which was wasted in district Karak and asked the people to save the gas from wasting as forth part of the gas produced on the soil of district Karak was sufficient for its residence while the rest of the gas was wasted. Prime Minister announced to pay half of the expenditure with the KP government to provide gas facility to the people of the district Karak.

He said that when their party government came into power in 2013 at that time about 1000 tons gas was produced in the country and now the production has reached to 1800 ton in which 1 percent gas was not given as a quota as political bribe to anyone.

Mr Haqani recalled that at the time of taking over charge of the government 500 kilometers motorway had been built in the country which were also constructed by their government in previous regime and now motorway has reached to 1700 kilometers in the country.

He said when they were voted to power 16 hours long load shedding were used to carry out in the country and now the country was producing surplus electricity. He claimed that in area where line lasses were huge the government observing load shedding in compulsion.

He appreciated the performance of the OGDCL and PPL gas companies and added that both the companies were included in the best companies of the world and said that it was overcoming the shortage of energy in the country. He announced one-month bonus to the employees of OGDCL.

Prime Minister claimed that his government has put the country on the path of development according to the vision of Nawaz Sharif and added that it is up to the masses that they would give vote to those who were abusing or to those who believe on decent politics.

He said that the people would decide in July in general election and expressed optimism that the electorates would decide in favour of Pakistan Muslim League. Prime Minister announced gas supply to the population living in five kilometers radius of gas fields and to the area where the gas was theft to replace the illegal gas connections to legal one. He further announced to link district Karak with Chine Economic Corridor via Shakardara and also handed over the Banda Daud Shah road and Tall road to National Highway authority to complete it as early as possible.

Prime Minister also approved a woman University campus in district Karak and asked the OGDCL Company to establish a modal educational institution in the area. He announced health cards for the poor people of district Karak to provide them the modern health facility.
