LAHORE: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his special adviser Ahad Cheema Saturday filed pleas in an accountability court of Lahore seeking their acquittal in Ashiyana-e-Iqbal Housing Scheme case.
Lawyer Amjad Pervez filed the acquittal pleas on behalf of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Ahad Cheema.
“No corruption was proved in the supplementary investigation report of National Accountability Bureau (NAB),” they stated in their pleas.
“The NAB declared [us] innocent in the supplementary investigation report. There is no evidence against us,” they added and demanded their acquittal in the case.
The co-accused including Nadeem Zia Pirzada and Kamran Kiyani had appeared before the court.
