PMEX index closes at 3,201 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited’s commodity Index on Tuesday closed at 3,201 points, with traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs 4.173 billion and 5,958 lots traded.

Major business was contributed by gold amounting to Rs 1.378 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 924.089 million, WTI crude oil Rs 910.646 million, silver Rs 277.552 million, DJ Rs 265.450 million, platinum Rs 213.332 million, NSDQ100 Rs 99.229 million, SP500 Rs 38.157 million, copper Rs 36.831 million, natural gas Rs 15.846 million and Brent crude oil Rs 14.670 million.

In agricultural commodities, 13 lots of cotton amounting to Rs 5.461 million were traded.
