PMEX index closes at 3,318 points

KARACHI: Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited’s commodity index on Wednesday closed at 3,318 points, with traded value of metals, energy and COTS/FX recorded at Rs 6.342 billion.

The number of lots traded was 9,489, said PMEX release on Thursday.

Major business was contributed by gold worth Rs 2.516 billion, followed by currencies through COTS Rs 1.533 billion, WTI crude oil Rs 937.404 million, silver Rs 654.789 million, platinum Rs 295.865 million, DJ Rs 139.852 million, NSDQ 100 Rs 121.387 million, SP500 Rs 72.756 million, natural gas Rs 49.716 million, copper Rs 20.469 million, and Brent crude oil Rs 0.684 million.

In agricultural commodities 9 lots of cotton amounting to Rs 3.941 million and 35,200 lots of red chili amounting to Rs 6.230 million were traded.
