PML-N plans mass contact strategy: Saad Rafique

LAHORE (INP): The senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) said, after attending party’s high level consultative huddle, that a strategy to make PML-N more active has been formulated as former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the rallies.

The high level meeting of the ruling PML-N was chaired by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. “Big rallies will be held across the country while the president of the party former PM Nawaz Sharif will address the public gathering, Saad Rafique said while talking to media in Jati Umra, Lahore.

He informed that Nawaz Sharif will address the first rally which will be held in Abbottabad on November 19, however the schedule for other rallies will be announced shortly. Replying to question he mentioned that vital and crucial decisions will be taken in Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting, which is underway in PM Abbasi’s chair.

Responding to another query regarding early election, outspoken Sadd said that it was only demand of Imran Khan, however it was not possible to hold early election as holding of early election will create constitutional crisis.

“The people who demand early election are leaving in fool’s paradise because it will open the door or constitutional crisis in the country,” he warned.

Earlier, the consultative meeting of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at Jati Umrah in Lahore concluded.

The high level meeting of the ruling PML-N was chaired by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The meeting was attended among others by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Governor Punjab Rafique Rajwana, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullaha.

The marathon meeting, which lasted for hours, discussed overall political situation of the country. Sources said that the PML-N top leadership discussed party strategy for next general elections and starting election campaign.

The corruption cases pending in accountability court against Sharif family and the NAB appeal against LHC decision to scrap Hudaibia Paper Mill reference against the Sharif family was also discussed in the meeting.
