F.P. Report
ISLAMABAD: PML-N Senator Lt General (retd) Abdul Qayyum has said that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) would win the next general election due to its performance in overcoming terrorism and energy issues, and improving economy.
The PML-N government after coming into power in 2013, he said, had to face the challenges of terrorism, power load-shedding and weak economy. However, due to the PML-N leadership and effective policies of the government, all the issues had almost been resolved, he said while talking to a news channel.
Commenting on the election of Shehbaz Sharif as PML-N president, he said as the chief minister of Punjab for last nine years, he had vast political experience and broad vision. Moreover, he had accomplished record development projects in the province, he added.
Victory in the bye-elections of Chakwal, Lodhran and other districts, he said, showed the rising popularity graph of PML-N. Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had improved health and education facilities, besides ensuring merit based system, he said.
The literacy rate in Chakwal, he said, was high as compared to other districts.
About the performance of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), he said the party could not streamline the governing system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where it was in government.
