PML-Q, PTI decide their alliance will remain intact

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Differences between the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and its coalition partner Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) seem to have been resolved as the leadership of both parties on Sunday decided that their alliance would continue.

Talking to media after meeting with PML-Q’s Chaudhry Shujaat and Moonis Elahi, Prime Minister Imran Khan s special assistant on political affairs Naeemul Haq said that Leader of Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif violated the agreement and attacked the prime minister, adding that he should follow the code of conduct.

“We have to bring new laws for the betterment of the nation,” he said and asked if there wouldn’t be any legislation if Shehbaz Sharif didn’t show up in the House.

The prime minister’s special assistant said that the premier is not allowed to speak in the House, adding that the PML-N had promised not to say a single word during PM Imran’s speech.

Naeemul Haq went on to say that he came to meet PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat on the directions of Imran Khan, adding there are no differences between the coalition partners.

“The PTI leaders’ visit aimed to tell the world that the two parties have no differences,” he said and added Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is playing an important role as the speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

We are trying to bring change by becoming partners and some elements want to create differences between the two parties and spreading rumours about it.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that his party will never become a part of any conspiracy.

“Imran Khan is the need of the hour,” he said adding, “we will support the federal government led by PM Imran and the alliance of PML-Q and PTI will remain intact.”
