Police activate public liaison committee in Kohat

KOHAT: In order to maintain the law and order situation and end crimes in the district police activated the Public liaison committees in the district on Saturday.

DPO Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat chaired a meeting in this regard at the SDPO City Office, in which DSP City Circle Raza Mohammad, SHO Police Station Cantt Mohammad Ali, local government representatives and a large number of local elders of adjoining areas to Police Station Cantt.

On the occasion DPO Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat summoned the session regarding the formation and effectiveness of the Public Liaison Committees (PLCs) for the purpose of regional peace and social crimes.

He said that people with good citizenship have been included in this committee who honestly fulfilling their responsibilities to ensure collaboration with police in case of eliminate crimes and disrupting public security. He added that the members of the Public Liaison committees will inform the police about the tension and the hateful activities affecting the public. They will inform police about the violating of loud speaker act, hate speeches and other hatred content. They will provide information about the tenants living in the area. The PLC members will monitor the criminals release from the jail.

Marwat further added that local SHO will keep a special register for PLC in the police station in which the information of Village and Neighborhood Council provided by PLC member will be registered. The PLC members will be asked for their meeting regularly and will review their performance. The PLC register will be checked by SDPO Circle twice in the month and after reviewing the performance of the members, they will also be rewarded for the best performance. On this occasion, the participants hailed Police Performance and assured Co-operation and full support to maintain law and order situation in the area.
