Police arrest 6 kite sellers, confiscate 520 kites

SARGODHA (APP): The police here on Saturday launched an operation and confiscated 520 kites, strings rolls and other material used for kite flying besides, rounded up eight kite sellers.

According to spokesman, Cantt police under supervision of Station House Officer (SHO), Fazal Qadir raided and confiscated 520 kites, 45 strings rolls and material used for kite flying besides arresting six kite seller identified as Arslan, Abdul Rehman, Hamza, Shafaqat, Abdullah and Iqbal. SHO Fazal Qadir said strict action would be taken against those who would violate the ban on kite flying.

Four Gamblers arrested: Police on Saturday in their ongoing crackdown against anti social elements have rounded up four gamblers, besides bet money amounting to Rs. 33,000 and 4 mobile phones from their possession.

A spokesman of police informed that Jhal Chakiya Police while acting on a tip off conducted raid in various areas in its jurisdiction and arrested four gamblers who were busy in playing cards, identified as Sultan, Zulqarnain, Muhammad Mukhtar and Azhar Abbas. Police have registered separate cases against all of them under gambling act.

DC asks the religious people to cooperate with administration in fighting against COVID-19: Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nair Sheikh has asked for cooperation from the religious people with the government and district administration in fighting against the fatal epidemic COVID-19. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Ulema here at DC office. He said that we all should have to make sure the acting upon the precautionary measures instructed by the government, through this we could fight and would Insha Allah be successful.

DC further said that there was no restriction on congregation prayers in mosques but the health department’s recommended rules need to be adopted adding that through social distancing the spread of coronavirus could be controlled. Addressing the meeting Ulema said that they would abide by and implement on the decisions of government and would cooperate with the district administration in this regard. In meeting Pir Javed Qadri, Ahmed Masood Zahdi, Riasat Ali Ferozi, Qari Abdul Waheed and others also were present.
