Police arrest 7148 criminals in last year

HANGU: Police by implementing national action plan have arrested overall 7148 criminals and suspects involved in various crimes during last year. According to annual progress report issued by District Police Officer (DPO), in its drive against criminals and anti-social elements, police have carried out over all 1097 search and strike operation in various parts of the district in which 7148 criminals including 355 proclaimed offenders involved in killings , kidnapping, robbery and incidents of terrorism were arrested. Police also nabbed 25 abettors of criminals for providing them shelter and other assistance in committing crimes. .

Police arrested seven Afghan refugees for illegal stay and FIRs were also lodged against unregisterd 72 tenants.

Overall 1140 drug addicts and 144 drug pushers were arrested and recovered 294 Kilogram Hashish , 6 kilogram opium and 50 bottles of liquor. Police produced 2287 criminals before local courts after completion of challan.
