PESHAWAR: Security forces successfully foiled a terror bid in Peshawar and arrested dozens of suspected persons and recovered cache of weapons in search operation conducted in Regi area of Peshawar on Intelligence Based Operation (IBO).
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Sajjad Khan told that police, army, elite force and intelligence officials took part in the operation which was conducted in Muhammad Banda, Neela Dorai and Mina Morcha areas of the provincial capital.
He added that police arrested 87 suspected persons during the search operation and police also recovered cache of weapons including 27 rocket mortars, 24 rocket shells, 17 hand-grenade bombs, 16 kalashnikovs, 28 pistols and 17 rifles.
SSP added that the operation was held late night in Khyber Agency and surrounding areas and was aided by political administration.
