Police arrest outlaw in Lakki raid

LAKKI MARWAT: Police have arrested a dreaded outlaw in injured condition after a shootout in Kakakhel locality on the night between Thursday and Friday.

An official said that a party of Ghaznikhel police station headed by SHO Haider Ali Shah reached the village on information about the presence of a proclaimed offender Hanif Jan and his unknown accomplice there. He said that the cops were attacked when they started laying siege around an under construction house where the wanted men were hiding.

The official said that police retaliated immediately and the exchange of fire continued for at least fifteen minutes. “The cops launched search in the area when exchange of firing stopped and arrested PO Hanif Jan in injured condition”, he claimed, adding that the cops also seized an AK-47 assault rifle, bullets and magazines from the arrested man while his accomplice escaped taking the advantage of darkness.

He said that the injured outlaw was shifted to the district headquarters hospital and a case was registered against him and his fleeing accomplice under relevant section law.
