Police arrest scores of criminals in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: Police claimed to have arrested score of criminals including kidnappers and seized arms, ammunition, explosives and narcotics from them during search and strike operation in different parts of the district.

“The operation was launched on the special instructions of DPO Arif Shebaz Khan wherein Elite Force commandos assisted local police”, said an official. He said that a police party of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station raided a hideout in Azerkhel village and arrested two wanted men including Zahid and Javed.

“The arrested criminals belong to Gul Imam Town of Tank district and that they were wanted by Tank police in kidnapping cases”, he maintained, adding that the law enforcers also captured a man identified as Zameer for sheltering outlaws in rural localities. He said that the same police party also arrested Rehman for his involvement in a case of aerial firing. The official added that another police party of Dadiwala police station raided a hideout in Wanda Muzaffari in Kurrum Par area and arrested two hardened criminals wanted in several cases of heinous nature.

He said that the cops seized two AK-47 assault rifles, spare magazines and a good number of bullets from them and registered a case under relevant section of law. “In separate action the same police party raided a narcotics den in Wanda Aurangzeb village and recovered 550 gram hashish, an RPG shell and three projectiles from the place”, maintained the official, saying that the drug trafficker identified as made good escape sensing the presence of police and a case has been registered against him.
