Police baton charge protesting female teachers in Karachi

F.P. Report

KARACHI: Police arrested and baton-charged the protesting teachers as they were holding protest for their demands on Wednesday.

As per details, the National Testing Service-passed teachers stage a sit-in protest at the Burns Road in Karachi and they were demanding regularization.

They demanded from the Sindh government to regularize them without taking NTS test as they already cleared the test three years ago and they were providing services in the schools than what is the point of taking re-test of NTS.

However, the police started action against them and arrested female teachers and used water cannons to disperse the protestors.

Initially, the teachers planned to hold a protest at the Sindh Secretariat, later they changed their plan of action by staging a sit-in at the Burns Road.

No government official has yet approached the protesting teachers to hold dialogue on the bitter stalemate.
