F.P. Report

PESHAWAR: The police personnel on Saturday baton charged the special persons who had staged a protest demonstration outside the Peshawar press club in favor of their demands.

During the action taken by police officials against the disabled persons, two among them were also detained on the spot while others dispersed. The protesting sit-in against the station house officer (SHO) along with other contingents of Hayatabad police station was underway for the last few days.

The alleged police officials of Sharkai police station gathered outside press club and baton charged the special persons who earlier had ruled out to end the protest till acceptance of their demands. However, the protesting disabled persons tried to block the road as part of their demonstration and later the SHO of Sharkai police station initiated talks with them.

Police also set free the two detained protestors and convinced them to called off their demonstration and that SHO ensured them that their demands would be solved. But special persons vowed to continue their protest until full assurance of all demands. Disabled persons demanded relevant authorities for stringent action against alleged police persons who were said to be involved in torture of their companions.
