KABUL: The Police Chief of Kabul Gen. Amanullah Wahidi has authorized the police forces to open fire on criminals, the Kabul Police Headquarters said.
According to a statement released Kabul Police Headquarters, Gen. Wahidi has said the police forces have the authority to open fire on criminals including kidnappers, armed robbers, terrorists, extortionists and smugglers.
Gen. Wahidi further added that the criminals must understand that they would not be to evade the law, emphasizing that the police forces must show no mercy when engaging with the criminals in a firefight.
Meanwhile, Gen. Wahidi said the security personnel should also perform their duties within the framework of the law, warning that those who violate the law or misuse their authorities, would be introduced to judicial institutions. (Khaama Press)
