Police forces thwart explosion in Kabul city

KABUL: The Afghan police forces thwarted militants bid to detonate an improvised explosive device in Kabul city earlier Sunday, the Kabul Police said.

According to a statement released by Kabul Police Headquarters, the police foces discovered and defused a magnetic improvised explosive device which was attached to a vehicle in the vicinity of the 1st Police District of the city.

The statement further added that the enemies had planted the improvised explosive device to shed the blood of innocent people. The anti-government armed militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

This comes as the anti-government armed elements have been attempting to carry out terrorist related activities in the key provinces and cities of the country including Kabul city as part of their spring offensive. (Khaama Press)
