F.P. Report
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, lauded the sacrifices of police martyrs and the patience and resilience of their families in glowing terms. He stated that the safe lives we and our children enjoy today are due to the sacrifices of these martyrs who gave their lives for us. No amount of tribute can fully honor their sacrifices. As Chief Minister, I salute the police and military martyrs and all those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism.
Speaking as the chief guest at the Police Martyrs’ Day ceremony in Peshawar on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that police martyrs are our pride, and it is our duty to take care of their children because these martyrs sacrificed their lives for the safe future of our children.
He said he is proud to be the Chief Minister of a province that is on the frontline of the country’s war, and the police of this province have set an unparalleled example of sacrifice in this war. Words may end, but the stories of police sacrifices will not.
He emphasized that we will only become a great nation when we genuinely feel the pain of the sacrifices made by these martyrs and their families. We must give our martyrs and heroes the highest status.
When we give our martyrs their rightful place, those willing to sacrifice for the country will continue to emerge. We must boost the morale of our forces’ young men and heroes and should not subject them to ridicule due to any personal or individual actions because they are facing internal and external threats and need our support. They stand tall against the enemy for us, and I am proud of our forces’ personnel who protect us from the borders to the intersections.
Declaring the establishment of law and order in the province as his government’s top priority, the Chief Minister said that whether there is money in the treasury or not, all the police’s needs will be met as a priority because without stabilizing the police, establishing peace is impossible, and without peace, prosperity will not come.
Therefore, the provincial government has allocated substantial funds for the purchase of vehicles, weapons, and other equipment for the police and will continue to provide more funds.
Highlighting the welfare of police martyrs’ children as one of his government’s key priorities, the Chief Minister stated that there will be no compromise on the welfare of martyrs’ children because these are our children, and they should not face any difficulty in acquiring education or in any other aspect.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a 100% increase in the quota for the recruitment of police martyrs’ children as ASI, including from the merged districts, and 20% of the traffic challan proceeds will be spent on the welfare of martyrs’ families.
He also announced that martyrs’ families will be given priority and their issues will be resolved first whenever they visit the Chief Minister’s House or any government office. Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur stated that the provincial government has decided to provide free plots in government housing schemes to the families of personnel martyred during duty in the police, military, and all law enforcement agencies, a process that is ongoing.
He mentioned that a separate cell is being established in the Home Department to address the issues of martyrs’ families.
Sending a message to terrorist elements, he said that attacking forces and people in the name of jihad is not jihad but ignorance, and those being targeted are of a higher stature than them. Therefore, reform yourselves and come out of this darkness of ignorance. If anyone thinks that we cannot fight, they are mistaken. The spirit of our heroes and martyrs’ families is proof that we are determined to fight against terrorism and will continue to fight until the last terrorist is eliminated and peace is established in our country. We stand with our forces in the war against terrorism. If anyone has a desire for jihad, they should go where jihad is needed; killing fellow Muslims cannot be considered jihad in any way.
