Policeman killed as attacker opened fire during checking

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A police personnel was killed as an unidentified attacker opened fire on police team in the limits of Paharpur police station here on Sunday.

Acting on tip off, the police started snap checking at Marwan bridge following information that a suspected person was traveling in a vehicle in Pharpur area. As the suspected vehicle appeared, the police party signaled to stop, instead of stopping, an unidentified gunman accelerated the car and also started fire on police party.

As a result, constable Sana Ullah received critical bullet injuries and was rush to hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The police retaliated the fire but the attacker managed to fled after sneaking into a nearby dense sugarcane crop.

Police cordoned off the area and started search operation to nib the culprit involved in killing the constable on duty.
