Policeman killed as gunmen opened fire on check-post in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: One police constable was killed and two others were injured when unknown gunmen opened fire on them Dhoke Hassu area of Rawalpindi in early hours of Thursday.

While talking to local news channel, City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Abbasi, told that the check post had been established to prevent crimes in the area and the police constables signaled to stop the three men riding on a motorcycle at the check post and they opened fire the officials in which one was killed identified as Shamsher and other two officials identified as Sajid and Makhdoom were injured in the incident.

Police said the assailants were aged between 25 and 35 years and their sketches were being prepared while CCTV cameras were also being used to identify the attackers.
