Polio campaign begins in FATA on Monday

PESHAWAR (APP): Three- day anti polio vaccination campaign will start in FATA from September 18 in which 1033182 children below the age of five years will be vaccinated.

Total of 1033182 children below the age of 5 years will be vaccinated by 4279 teams: comprising 3880 mobile teams, 303 fixed teams and 96 transit teams said officials on Sunday.

The anti-polio campaign in some parts of Bara tehsil in Khyber Agency, Miranshah, Mirali and Data Khail tehsils in North Waziristan Agency and Wana, Sararogha, Sarvakai, Makeen, Ladda and Tiyarza tehsils in South Waziristan Agency will be launched on September 25, 2017.

These are the areas where community based vaccination staff is being hired. Newly hired teams will be trained to reach out and vaccinate every child during the campaign.
