PESHAWAR: Chairman Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao called upon all the political parties to play their role on the holding of general election in a transparent way. He said that the transition of the political power is good omen for the country
He said this during a press conference at Watan Kor Peshawar on this occasion Amir Sohail from Malakand of PTi along with his family members and scores of supporters announced his joining in the ranks of QWP. They reposed confidence on the leadership of Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and party provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao. Aftab Sherpao warmly welcomed the new entrants.
He said that the transparent election would be instrumental in the political stability, as political stability was influential for the country development.
He said that the state machinery should not be misused in the election, so as the transparency of the election could be ensured and such an environment should be created that the people should have confidence in the electoral process and all the political parties should accept the election results.
He harshly criticized the failed policies of the PTI in the province during their government. He said that an environment of fake change was created on the social media while on ground nothing had been done.
He said that the real face of the PTI has been exposed and the masses will reject them through the power their votes. He said that the PTI government instead of fulfilling its promises had done nothing during their five years tenure and greatly perturbed the lives of the people with developmental projects that could not complete in their government. He said that the provincial capital had been wrecked because it was launched with a bad faith just for election interests not for the public welfare.
Aftab Sherpao said that Fata’s merger with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a historical achievement and it would open the doors of the development and prosperity for the neglected tribal people who rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He said by welcoming the merger process that the government should make sure the establishment of the judicial and administrative for Fata after the merger to benefit the tribesmen.
He said that after the KP-Fata merger it was necessary to pay immediate attention to the neglected areas and put them on the path of development. He demanded that handsome funds should be earned marked to change the lot of the locals so as to bring revolutionary changes in their socio economic conditions. He said that the federation and provinces should offer sacrifices for the cause of Fata in the larger national interests.
He regretted that the Pakhtuns suffered immensely due to terrorism and extremism, but they had been ignored which increased their sense of deprivation.
Sherpao said the controvercial issues like Kalabagh Dam had been brought to the limelight where as the issues pertaining to the Pakhtun’s rights had been put on the backburner.
He said that the provincial assemblies of the smaller provinces has passed resolutions against the controversies of the Kalabagh Dam, therefore this project was abandoned, due to lack national consensus.
He said that the smaller provinces have serious reservations over the controversial project because it was a matter of life and death for them. He said that Kalabagh Dam was detrimental to the stability of the federation because the smaller provinces would now allow its creation at any cost.
He said that the electioneering had been publicized, therefore raising this issue would unnecessarily divides the nation and it would put vital issues on the backburner.
