Politician disqualified from SC lectures nation on justice: Hamza Shehbaz

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz said on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen, who was disqualified from the Supreme court, is now lecturing the nation on justice and equality.

While speaking to media, Hamza Shehbaz said that Tareen calling corruption embarrassing is one of the signs of day of judgement.

Hamza Shehbaz appeared before National Accountability Bureau Lahore today in relation to the case against having assets beyond means of income and money laundering.

Shehbaz Sharif’s son submitted to the Lahore High Court today a petition against the conduct of NAB officials. In his plea, he asked the high court to take action against NAB officials for contempt of court.

While referring to the petition, he said that the NAB is inquiring him about the funds from 2005 to 2008, when he was not a public office holder.

He further said that whatever he did at that time was as per the law and tax regulations of that time period.

Hamza Shehbaz, in his petition, challenged the act of raiding his home from NAB officials.

He said that police ‘attacked’ the homes of his sisters, adding that a summon was sent to his ailing mother.

Hamza Shehbaz said that in order to deviate the nation from the current government’s incompetence, the opposition leaders are summoned to NAB offices.

A team of NAB on Saturday visited the residence of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif’s daughter in Model Town area of the city and served a notice summoning them in an assets-beyond-means case.

Responding to reports of a raid at the residence of Shehbaz’s daughter, the NAB Lahore said a team of its officials went there to serve the notice summoning them on April 16.

The Lahore High Court earlier restrained NAB from arresting Hamza. NAB had carried out two successive raids last week at Shehbaz’s Model Town residence to arrest Hamza.
