Pompeo meets Crown Prince of UAE, discussed security cooperation

WASHINGTON: Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo has landed in United Arab Emirates and has also held a meeting with the higher authorities of Emirates.

On November 21st Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo met today with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates. Secretary?Pompeo and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.

The U.S Statement Department’s official spokesperson stated that during the meeting the dignitaries have comprehensively discussed the progress of the UAE’s normalization of relations with Israel under the Abraham Accords Declaration and issues of bilateral concern, including security cooperation and countering Iran’s malign influence in the region, as well as that of China.

In addition to this, during the meeting agendas of the need to achieve a political solution that brings peace and stability to the people of Yemen, and they welcomed the Libya ceasefire announcement on October 23, agreeing that all sides should fully support the UN-facilitated Libyan Political Dialogue Forum were also discussed between Secretary Pompeo and Crown Prince, said the spokesperson.

In this high-profile meeting, Secretary Pompeo also underscored the importance of Gulf unity and discussed ways to continue to work together to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, said the spokesperson.
