Pompeo phones PM Imran, discusses bilateral relations
WASHINGTON: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has expressed willingness to work with the Prime Imran Khan led new government of Pakistan.
This he said during his phone call to Prime Minister Imran Khan and discussed various bilateral issues.
He congratulated the Premier Imran Khan on assuming office and expressed his willingness to work with the new government towards a productive bilateral relationship, a statement by the US government said.
Terrorism and Afghanistan issue also came under discussion.
Pompeo raised the importance of Pakistan taking decisive action against all terrorists and its vital role in promoting the Afghan peace process.
