WASHINGTON: A 33 members Trade Delegation of the American Pak Business Development Forum (AMPK BDF) led by Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Chairman AM-PAK BDF Sr. Vice President FPCCI visited Houston, USA attended Trade Mission 2019 Texas.
The delegation comprises Leading Businessmen and Exporters from Textile, IT, Tourism, Real Estate Developers and other sectors. During the visit, the delegation had meetings with Senior Government Officials and leading Businessmen. Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Asad Majeed and Mr. Thomas Vajda Deputy Secretary Central Asian Affairs US Department of State flown from Washington DC to attend the meetings in Houston whereas Counsel General of Pakistan in Houston Ayesha Farooq, S. M. Muneer, Former CE TDAP & Former President, CHARLES C Foster Chairman AM-PAK BDF HOUSTON Chapter Nawaid Isa President and founder of AMPAK BDF, Secretary General Syed Nasser Wajahat, Secretary Corporates affairs Syed Turab Shah, FPCCI, Vice President FPCCI Noor Khan, Naveed Bukhari from Canada, Zeeshan Altaf Lohya President AM-PAK BDF education affairs attended the meetings with the delegation.
During the meetings, Dr. CHARLES C Foster Chairman AM-PAK BDF HOUSTON chapter NAWAID ISA and Mirza Ikhtiar Baig highlighted trade potentials of Pakistan to USA under GSP and non GSP based products. He also underlined the soft image of Pakistan and highlighted the potential of investment in the priority sectors of the new government namely Tourism, IT & Low Cost Housing.
He also underscored the opportunities available for establishment of the industries in SEZs under CPEC including relocation of industries from abroad to benefit from low wages of the skilled workers in Pakistan. They highlighted business friendly investment policy of Pakistan which allows 100% repatriation of profit and 21 years tax incentives to new industries in SEZs. During the visit, overseas Pakistani shown warm response and expressed their confidence on the government.
Pakistani Consul General Aisha Farooqui was the Chief Guest of the dinner reception hosted by NAWAID ISA President AM-PAK BDF and Mr. Saeed Sheikh, President Houston Karachi Twin City Association and Congressional recognition of congress women Shela Jackson Lee awarded to Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig on his contribution to trade & Industry. Dr. Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and Mr. S. M. Muneer inaugurated ICCMC Multi Sports Complex in Houston and participated in Opening of Trade Mission 2019. At the ceremony, KP George, County Judge/Mayor of Fort Bend County welcomed the delegation to Houston and briefed them about the fastest growing economy of the country.
During the visit, the delegation also had meetings with Jensen Shen Director Greater Houston Partnership (GHP), Chairman Wallis Bank, Pakistan Chamber of Commerce Houston Dr. Mubashir Chaudhary and President Pakistan Association Greater Houston Haroon Shaikh.

Also add that Pakistani Business delegation members showed great interest to invest in USA in various fields like oil and gas, energy sectors IT sector and in hotel industry it will help to boost the trade between two countries.
