Powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake hits eastern part of Iran

TEHRAN: Three earthquakes hit the eastern Iran in quick succession on early Friday morning and as per the US Geological Survey the first earthquake was the strongest one with the magnitude of 6.0 tremors.

After the first strong earthquake, two more was recorded with a magnitude of 5.0 and 5.1 aftershocks in the area.

The state television reported that still not causality was reported the area.  The residents to the street as the quake struck, and motorists were seen rushing to stock up on petrol.

The latest tremors come just over two weeks after a 7.3 quake killed more than 500 people in western Kermanshah province, close to the border with neighboring Iraq.
