PPP celebrates 93rd birthday of former premier ZAB

KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers and leaders on Tuesday celebrated the 93rd birth anniversary of former prime minister and party’s founder late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB). 

The party workers cut the birthday cakes and chanted the slogans of Jiye Bhutto to celebrate the occasion.  One such party meeting was organised at People’s Party Secretariat in Lahore, which was attended by PPP Punjab Senior Vice President Aslam Gill, PPP Lahore President Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Usman Malik, Mani Pehlwan, Shahida Jabeen, Arif Butt, Sonia Khan, Munnawar Anjum and scores of other party workers and office-bearers.    

Speaking on the occasion, PPP Punjab Senior Vice President Aslam Gill said that ZAB had dedicated his entire life for the country.

He said he struggled against religious extremists and brought different segments of the society closer to each other so that national unity could be promoted.   Gill said it was late Bhutto who gave a unanimous constitution to the country. 

He said PPP did not recognise the incumbent prime minister, and said the party stood for the restoration of complete democracy in the country.  

Similarly, a 93 pound cake was cut at a ceremony held at Arts Council, Larkana in connection with the 93rd birth anniversary celebrations of former prime minister late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.     A function was arranged at the residence of PPP Senator Gayan Chand in Tharparkar to pay tributes to ZAB on his 93rd birthday.

PPP Information Secretary Nand Lal Malhi, People’s Youth Organisation’s divisional President Sasheel Malani, Mohan Lal, Lal Muhammad Mangrio and scores of party workers attended the event.
