PPP lawmaker Ayaz Soomro dies at 59

LARKANA: Member National Assembly (MNA) of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muhammad Ayaz Soomro breathed his last in a New York hospital on Tuesday.

Ayaz Soomro, born on December 31, 1958 and he joined Sindh People’s Students Federation in his student life. He also remained central secretary general of the PPP Sindh.

Soomro was a lawyer by profession and was elected as member of Supreme Court Bar from Larkana. He also remained president District Bar for ten years.

Ayaz Sooro was considered a close associate of Benazir Bhutto. He was also elected member of provincial assembly (MPA) of Sindh Assembly three times. He was appointed as provincial law, jails and housing minister in 2008.

Ayaz Soomro was elected as an MAN from National Assembly constituency NA-204 on PPP ticket. He was suffering from cardiovascular disease and remained under treatment in Karachi for a long time. He was shifted to New York a month ago where he died today.
