PPP marks death anniversary of ZAB

WANA: Pakistan people’s party arranged a program at Raghzai bazaar, tehsil Birmal South Waziristan agency to mark the 39th anniversary of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

A large number of elders, students and party activists were present in the program. PPP president Amanullah Wazir said while addressing the gathering that provision of education, health facilities, employment to youth and peace are the main responsibilities of state. We lack the basic faculties of health and education in Wana due to weakness of our elected parliamentarians and present govt, he alleged.

He said that we should organize ourselves to snatch our rights from state through democratic ways in future. He saluted the strong resistance of people, when government had imposed heavy taxes on natural pine nuts of the area a few months ago. He said while speaking on the occasion that government had to take back the decision of imposition of heavy taxes on pine nuts in the face of tough resistance from people in Wana.

He appealed Ahmadzai Wazir tribe to elect an honest and dedicated candidate in the next general election. He told the people that the sacrifices of the PPP for Pakhtuns were clear like day light; former Prime Minister late Benazir Bhutto was assassinated over raising voice for the rights of tribal people. PPP finance secretary for FATA, Imran Mukhlis said that people of raghzai town elected the sitting federal minister Ghalib khan with heavy mandate, but I curse the minister that did he not construct a single primary school, health facility and water supply scheme for the entire tehsil Birmal in the last 5 years tenure.

He said that PPP was the first party in history which amended national laws to make tribal people the real citizens of the country four decades ago.

Right of adult franchise to the tribesmen was given by the government o people’s party. And PPP govt had increased fata budget from 5 billion to 19 billion rupees. He revealed.
