PPP is re-emerging as a national party: Mehmood

F. P Report

TIMERGARA:  Pakistan People Party Lower Dir president and former provincial minister Mehmood Zeb Khan has said the PPP is re-emerging as a national party and would gain majority of seats in the next election.

He was addressing a party workers’ gathering arranged by PPP Timergara chapter at Sarai Payeen Talash here on Sunday. Party workers including activists of People Youth Organization and People Students Federation were in attendance.

The PPP Tehsil president and district councilor Malak Brakat Khan, tehsil general secretary Malak Javed Iqbal, provincial leader advocate Tahir Khan, Sher Muhammad and others spoke on the occasion.

Former provincial minister said the coalition government of the PTI and JI had badly failed to initiate any mega development project in Dir. He said the PTI chief Imran Khan and KP chief minister Pervez Khattak had inaugurated the establishment of Timergara Medical College four years ago but nothing in that regard had been done so far.

“It is the PPP that changed the life of poor masses in the country. It was ZA Bhutto who gave recognition to the country and opened the gates for poor masses to earn abroad,” Mr Zeb said, adding the PTI had deceived the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the mere slogan of change.

The former minister said that thousands of poor people were benefitted of the BISP scheme launched by his government while thousands of youth were employed during the previous government. He said that he had got approval of construction of Talash Degree College both for male and female in his tenure as minister but despite the passage of four and a half years the present government did nothing to start work on them. He alleged the incumbent government had abolished the ongoing development projects approved by the PPP government in the province.

The PPP tehsil president Malak Brakat announced that Nadra and passport offices would be set up at Talash if his party came in power again. He said the valley of Talash needed separate status of tehsil level and a fire brigade vehicle but the JI lawmakers were doing nothing to do that.

Meanwhile two youth from the JI Shaukat Khan and Amjad Khan while one Nadeem Khan from the PTI announced to join the PPP on the occasion.
