Prefabricated buildings to be built for AJK varsity: Farooq

MUZAFFARABAD: The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haidar said that prefabricated buildings would be constructed to meet the shortage of buildings of AJK University with cost of Rs 5 million each. The government will also provide funds for the construction of a beautiful and sophisticated Auditorium equipped with all modern needs in the varsity. He made these announcements after inauguration of a newly constructed building of computer sciences and Information Technology at city campus of the varsity which was completed in 10-month.

The Vice Chancellor of AJK University professor Dr. Kaleem Abbassi, and other university staff was also present on the occasion. Prior to inauguration, the Dean of Arts professor Dr. Ayshia Suhail briefed the prime minister regarding the research and other curricular activities of the university.

The PM said that compensation for king Abdullah University would be fulfilled as early as possible hoping that the varsity would fully cooperate for the intellect training of the students as to make them future asset for the nation.

The Vice chancellor Dr. Kaleem apprising the PM regarding the present infrastructure, educational environment and future planning of the University said the quality assurance agency of Higher Education Commission termed our laboratories and libraries upto the mark while making inspection last month. He said the provision of quality education and high research work of the students was recognized by the HEC which is depiction of our high educational standard. The VC said the wide range of opportunities are given to the students to get PhD scholarships abroad and in future we are planning to produce fifty PhD students at least in each faculty, the VC added.

Dr. Kaleem also drew attention of the Prime Minister regarding the construction hindrances in the King Abdullah University and lack of facilities and hostel issues on the occasion.
