President accepts credentials of new Danish ambassador

KABUL (Agencies): President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani accepted the credence letter of Mette Knudsen new Ambassador of Denmark to Afghanistan during a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

According to repot, President Ghani welcomed Ambassador Mette Knudsen said, her capability and experience would immensely contribute to further strengthening the mutual relations between Afghanistan and Denmark.

The President lauded the European Union’s principled position and political support for peace in Afghanistan and expressed gratitude to the union for its multifaceted cooperation during the past nineteen years.

He added, “Your stance has been consistent and grounded on promotion of democracy, freedom of expression, rights of women and other common values.”

The incoming Danish Ambassador expressed happiness for holding her new post in Afghanistan and reiterated that Denmark seeks for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan where the gains of the past nineteen years are upheld and further advanced.
