President: Discipline, merit and transparency is key to good governance

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has said that strict implementation of the principles of discipline, merit and transparency is a key to good governance.

In this regard, the working of Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has made it a reliable organization in the country.  The President said this while talking to Chairman FPSC Naveed Akram Cheema who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Tuesday. Chairman FPSC also presented Annual Report-2016 of the FPSC to the President.

The President stated that it is heartening to note that both male and female children from backward areas are joining the civil services.

He underlined that it must be encouraged and equal opportunities should be provided to the people from all region by elevating the standards of education.

The President highlighted that young professionals from different fields are also becoming the part of civil services which will further improve the standards of administration in the country.  He appreciated the start of simple, speedy and inexpensive online registration system for the aspiring candidates.

He hoped that FPSC will achieve its desired objectives under the leadership of its Chairman, Naveed Akram Cheema.
