KAUBL: President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday called for full eradication of polio, saying all challenges in this regard particularly in remote areas should be identified and focused on.
A statement from the Presidential Palace quoted the president as stressing the need for identifying and analyzing problems and challenges in the implementation of anti-polio campaigns.
The Ministry of Public Health presented its report on progress and challenges towards implementation of polio program in the country.
The full report showed progress in implementation of anti-polio drives in various provinces of Afghanistan and thanked the president for his attention in this regard. The report has also shared suggestions. The president directed relevant authorities particularly the Independent Directorate of Local Governance to take serious and urgent action in coordination with local authorities in effectively implementing and expediting anti-polio efforts.
Ghani emphasized the entire provincial and capital administrations should use all possibilities and equipment in order to eradicate polio.
