KABUL: Linking establishment of communication with security of the country, President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani directed ministry of information and communication to establish communication system in all the province of the country. The president was presiding over an extra-ordinary meeting of National Procurement Commission at Presidential Palace.
The president said that the establishment of communication links in districts and provinces has basic links with the security issue in the country and this system should immediately be established. He issued directives to communication and information technology ministry and Afghan Telecom to establish communication system in all the provinces of the country and present report to him.
A press release issued by presidential palace said the meeting approved three $7 million projects of the communication and information technology ministry. Besides officials of the national procurement commission, national observers of parliamentary commissions on finance, budget and economic affairs also attended the meeting.
The president’s directives for the establishment of communication links come at a time when Taliban created communication problems in several provinces of Afghanistan by forcibly closing telecom network.
