President urges youth to excel in science and technology

ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi Wednesday urged the country’s youth to grab the opportunities of this modern digital communications era and excel in the fields of science and technology, to help achieve the goals of Naya Pakistan.

He was addressing the opening session of a two-day 2nd International Conference on Communication, Computing and Digital System being held here at Bahria University.

The President also called upon the country’s universities to transform their education curriculums in line with the international standards and prepare the youth in accordance with the future requirements.

He said since Pakistan was progressing fast in the field of science, there was a need to enhance the use of technology in diverse areas including that of the electoral process.

The President said with revolutions occurred in the areas of science and communications and work of days now being done in minutes, the modern technology had also made the communication linkages every easy.

Dr. Alvi said as the study of scientific magazines remained his passion in the professional life, he had a long association with science and communication.

The President said as he started using computer in early 1980s and later also utilized smart-phone for communication in party matters, he always preferred the use of modern technology in his life. He congratulated Bahria University for organizing the conference on the important subject and said the promotion of science and technology, digital systems and communication was the need of hour.
