GAZA (Xinhua): Ismail Haniyeh, politburo chief of Hamas movement, announced Wednesday that a prisoner swap deal with Israel can be accomplished if Israel positively responds to Hamas’ demands.
A Hamas statement said that Haniyeh’s remarks were made earlier on Wednesday during a telephone conversation with Mikhail Bogdanov, special envoy of Russia to the Middle East and Africa.
The statement said that Haniyeh, who is currently in Qatar, told Bogdanov that Hamas insists on the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails through a prisoner swap.
