PESHAWAR (APP): The process of filing of appeals against the decision of returning officers (RO) for general election 2024 was started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the process of filing of appeals against RO decisions would continue till January 3, 2024.
The process of submission of nomination papers and acceptance or rejection of nomination papers by the returning officers have been completed.
The appellate tribunal would dispose of these appeals by January 10, 2024.
According to PTI, the nomination papers of former Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser from NA-19 and PK-50, ex provincial minster Shahram Tarkai from NA-20 and PK-53 Swabi and Ali Ameen Gandapur NA- 44 DI Khan were rejected.
The nomination papers of former Federal Minister Murad Saeed from Swat, Sher Afzal Marwat, Shahryar Afridi from Kohat and Sher Ali Arbab from Peshawar, Muhammad Azam, Sabagatullah of Dir, Atif Khan of Mardan and Shandana Gulzar were also rejected.
The nomination papers of PTI stalwarts were rejected on various grounds.
Meanwhile, the nomination papers of PTI Parliamentarians Chairman Pervez Khattak and his son in law, Dr Imran Khan Khattak from Nowshera, Jumat e Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq from Dir, former Federal Minister Khawaja Muhammad Khan Hoti from Mardan, Ikhtair Wali Khan of PMLN from Nowshera, Mian Iftikhar from Pabbi Nowshera and Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour of ANP from Peshawar were accepted.
