Professional competence, honesty keys of success: Deputy Speaker

PESHAWAR: Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani, Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has said that development of close interaction between universities and schools for career counseling and professional competence is the need of the hour; she was speaking as chief guest to the concluding session of social integration project of Khyber Medical University (KMU) in collaboration with HEC Islamabad.

Beside others Prof. Dr. Arshad javed, Pro VC KM Prof. Dr. Jawad Ahmad, Registrar Prof. Dr. Mohammad Saleem Gandapur, Director IBMS Dr. Zille Huma and Project Coordinator Yasir Yousafzai and a large number of children of various schools were also present at the occasion.

Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani said the reason behind the development of the advanced nations is their investment and giving top priority to all levels of education.

She said, implementation of educational reforms is also the top most priority of the present PTI lead government and it achieved a lot in this regard. By integrating different health related educational fields like medical and dental, physiotherapy, nursing, paramedics, basic sciences and health education profession and public health at KMU is a unique step towards ensuring better health delivery services in the province, she added.

She urged the students to work hard and pay full dedication to their future endeavors with full zeal and honesty. Nursing and paramedics are noble professions and we should not only encourage our youth to opt for these professions but to provide them opportunities to excel in these fields. She praised the KMU role for integration of different health related programs from undergraduate to post graduate level and hoped that KMU will keep continue its efforts by providing a broader platform to the school children as well as KMU students for career counseling and guidance.

Dr. Mehar Taj Roghani also advised the KMU authorities to also incorporate Provincial Assembly visits in the social integrated program for the schools children and KMU students for better know how of the working of Provincial legislature and to create confidence amongst the new generation about politicians and politics. She assured all possible help in materializing this activity.

It is worth mentioning that objective of this project was to provide basic know how and guidance about health education, Allied programs like Physiotherapy, Nursing, Paramedics, Health Nutrition and basic medical sciences. More than 200 children of ten different schools were participated for 5 days in this project. All the students were motivated and aimed to select good future career.

At the end of the concluding session gifts were distributed as memories among all the students.
