PSQCA team seizes sub-standards, illegal and non-license products

KARACHI: As per directives of Director General, PSQCA, Conformity Assessment (South), PSQCA team cracked down against illegal and sub-standards and non-license products were seized and deshelf at the spot. The crackdown launched by Conformity Assessment, PSQCA Karachi Zone against illegal production at Imtiaz Super Market, Near Gulshan Chowrangi, Karachi.

Inspectors of the Authority collected samples of banaspati, cooking oil/edible oils and other mandatory products of different brands. The samples were tested on the spot and cooking oil/banaspati was found conforming against relevant PSS.

During the surveillance activity PSQCA team found illegal non-license products i.e. Hyderabad Pickle Brands, Shampoo of Pure Amla Brand, Fairness cream of Hus-e-Yousuf Brand, beauty cream of Sandal Brand, Detergent Powder of Imtiaz Brand, Skimmed Milk of Dairy King Brand, Iodized & Refined Iodized Salt of Falak Brand, Honey of Hiba Life Brand, Beauty Care cream of 5 ways, Shampoo of Medora Brand, Turmeric Powder of Naseem Brand, Beauty cream of Herbs & Roots Brand, Whitening cream of Cool & Cool Whhitening Brand, Shampoo of Neem & Mint Refresh Brand, Shampoo of Silkona Anti Dandruff Brand, Shampoo of Silkona Egg Protein Brand, Skin Cream of Forhan’s Lemon Cream 7 Day Beauty Plan Brand, Skin cream of Forhan’s Vanishing Cream for Skin Fairness Brand, Skin cream of Skin White 3 Day Glow Brand and Mayonnaise of Kinas Thousand Island Dressing Brand were removed from shelves and seized.

Notices were issued to the Manufacturers for compliance. All stocks of non conformed, non-license illegal products were de-shelved & seized.

Further actions will also be initiated as per law. The PSQCA Team also collected the different brands of licensed product samples of red chilli powder, turmeric powder. Black tea, Iodized salt, Mayonnaise, pickles, jam, marmalade, synthetic vinegar, mango fruit drink and carbonated beverages for their testing in the lab of QCC.

The Director General, PSQCA has said that strict measures will be taken against the makers of illegal products and substandard items will not be tolerated in the market under the orders of the federal government. No pressure will be accepted in this regard. He urged the officers to work honestly and commended them.
