PSX turns around, gains 106 points to close at 45,947 points

ISLAMABAD (APP): The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around and witnessed slight bullish trend on Tuesday, gaining 106.70 points, a positive change of 0.23 points, closing at 45,947.95 points against 45,841.25 points on the last working day.
A total of 187,377,125 shares, valuing Rs7.097, were traded during the day compared to the trade of 150,102,543 shares worth Rs6.251, the previous day.
As many as 364 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 153 of them recorded gain and 184 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 27 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were Hum Network with a volume of 23,138,009 shares and price per share of Rs7.77, Enjgro Polymer with a volume of 14,700,000 and price per share of Rs61.21 and WorldCall Telecom with volume of 14,212,500 and price per share of Rs2.20.
Premier Suger witnessed a maximum increase of Rs39.50 per share, closing at Rs577 whereas the runner up was Sapphire Fiber the share prices of which climbed up by Rs34.86 to Rs955.
Otsuka Pak witnessed maximum decrease of Rs18.88 closing at Rs241.12 followed by Wah-Noble, the share price of which declined by Rs14.75 to close at Rs215.25.
Rupee sheds 03 paisas against dollar
Exchange rate of the Pakistan rupee weakened by 03 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs174.50 against the previous day’s closing of Rs174.47.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 175.1 and Rs 176.6 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was depreciated by Rs 0.51 and closed at Rs 198.97 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 199.48.
The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.51, whereas an increase of 16 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs236.40 as compared to its last closing of Rs236.24.
The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 01 paisas to close at Rs 47.50 and Rs 46.51 respectively.
Gold price increase by Rs600 to Rs124,800 per tola
The price of 24 karat per tola gold witnessed an increase of Rs600 and was sold at Rs124,800 on Tuesday against its sale at Rs124,200 the previous day.
The price of 10 gram 24 karat gold also increased by Rs515 and was sold at Rs106,996 against its sale at Rs106,481 whereas price of 10 gram 22 karat gold increased to Rs98,080 from Rs97,608 respectively, the All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
The price of per tola and 10 gram silver also witnessed no change and was traded at Rs1,450 and Rs1,243.14, respectively.
The price of gold in international market increased by $5 and was sold at $1818 against its sale at $1813, the Association reported.
