Psychological aid provided to over 25,136 patients in KP

PESHAWAR: In order to extend its full patronage to deserving people of KP, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society KP chapter has provided psychological first aid to 25,136 people during 2016-17 under its restoring family links programme.

Talking to reporters, RFL coordinator Beena Khan said the RFL officers stationed in nine major government hospitals in the province, provided not only psychological first aid to patients but also free consultation and phone call services for reunification with their families.

She further informed that a total of 14,568 patients were assisted in 2016 while in 2017, around 10,554 patients were facilitated. She said the PRCS KP has provided these services in case of emergencies as well as during daily routine.

Speaking about the future line of action, she said the organization would continue the unique services in the districts including Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbotabad and Malakand to assist the vulnerable patients. She hopes they would launch toll free lost helpline 1030 to facilitate the general public for reunification.
