LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to award the party ticket for the PP-87 constituency to the wife of Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, the former Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly, who was recently disqualified in connection with the May 9 case.
According to party officials, the decision was made after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declared the PP-87 seat vacant following Bhachar’s disqualification.
The Punjab Assembly Secretariat also issued a formal notification confirming the vacancy.
The ECP has now confirmed that the PTI’s nominated candidate for PP-87 will be Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar’s wife from Mainsail’s provincial assembly seat PP-87 in the general election.
