PTI stands firm against political persecution: Omar Ayub

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PTI) leader Omar Ayub has said the opposition stands firm against political persecution.

“If Hammad Azhar and Mian Aslam Iqbal are arrested, we will take up the matter in the National Assembly,” he said while addressing the media outside Adiala Jail after meeting PTI founder Imran Khan.

Flanked by other leaders, he said: “We will have a peaceful protest all over Pakistan.”

He added: “If any kind of statement is taken from Mian Aslam Iqbal under pressure, we will not accept it. He urged Hammad Azhar and Mian Aslam Iqbal to lead the party after completing their cases.

He continued: “A number of our women are in jails. Yasmeen Rashid’s condition worsened and she was shifted to the hospital.

“Bushra Bibi is being subjected to political persecution though she has nothing to do with politics.

“Bushra Bibi is not a weakness of the PTI founder. We have visited Chaman and Pishin in Balochistan

“IGP is the Punjab government tout. We are going to take legal action against IGP.

He took a swipe at the Islamabad police for being a tool of political ploys, saying: “When Hamad Azhar came to the PTI office, the Islamabad Police conducted the raid without warrants.

Omar asserted: “The Islamabad police chief and SSP Operations are responsible for the attack on Rauf Hasan.

He said: “On December 16, 1971, Pakistan was bifurcated and the decision was made by General Yahya Khan. “An individual is making decisions in Pakistan even today. This will result in disadvantages too.

“Six judges wrote to the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Supreme Judicial Council on the intervention with the judicial affairs.

“The coalition government is responsible for poor economic conditions, wheat scandal and the plight of farmers

“The federal government and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hit the Kashmir cause hard.”
