PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar refuses to take charge as Aviation minister

F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ghulam Sarwar Khan has refused to take charge as Aviation minister after he was removed as Petroleum minister in the major reshuffling in the cabinet.

According to local media reports, after reshuffling the federal cabinet Ghulam Sarwar Khan was given ministry of Aviation, but he denied assuming charge of it.

Reports added that former petroleum minister is unhappy after being removed from petroleum ministry.

Yesterday, Sarwar also showed his reservation and refused to take any other ministry and threatened to leave the party, if Petroleum ministry was taken back from him.

It may be recalled that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Asad Umar on Thursday had announced that he is stepping down from his post as finance minister.

Federal cabinet on Thursday saw a major reshuffle with the resignation of Asad Umar as finance minister and appointment of noted economist Hafeez Shaikh as Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance.

Minister of State for Interior Shaheryar Afridi has been made Minister of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON).

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry was given the Science and Technology portfolio which had been without a minister since December last year after Azam Khan Swati’s resignation.

Ms Firdous Aashiq Awan is set to replace Fawad Chaudhry but as a Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting as she is not a parliamentarian.
