PTV needs to embark on modern lines: Ajmal

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Ajmal Khan Wazir Wednesday said to Pakistan Television (PTV) will be introduced with modern technology to highlight the true image and concept of Pakistan throughout the world as Prime Minister Imran Khan sees it.

Meeting with Chairman PTV Mohammad Arshad Khan and MDPTV Aamir Manzoor, Ajmal Wazir said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has started jihad against corruption in the country and endeavours to established the rule of  transparency, merit, justice, rule of law.

He added that supporting the needy people under the Wasila and Ehsas program is the practical step of Imran Khan towards the state of Madinah.

Ajmal Khan said that for effective promotion of government statements, PTV needs to be adapted to the requirements of the modern technology, so that the positive perception of Pakistan is highlighted all over the world.

He said that media has not only made progress in Pakistan for the last 16 years but also private TV channels have created an atmosphere of competition.

Advisor stated that  administrative discipline is essential to keep the equipment and manpower available to PTV in line with new requirements.

Advisor Information Ajmal Wazir urged MD PTV Aamir Manzoor to increase the operational and technical support of the Peshawar Center and said that Pakistan Television should play its role in interpreting the people of Pakhtunkhwa.

Advisor assured that the Information Department will continue to play its role in strengthening and enabling Pakistan Television at the provincial level.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mehmood Khan, has initiated various schemes for public welfare and after erstwhile Fata merger has accelerated development process in the tribal areas. He said that PTV should also highlight the difficulties of tribal areas in a neutral way and to present special programs related to implementation of government schemes.

Chairman PTV Mohammad Arshad Khan said that public awareness such as campaigns and the role of PTV has been playing a key in bridging the gap between the government and the public.
