PU, UoL, UCP & Iqra Karachi enter into semi-finals in HEC Inter-University Women Badminton

PESHAWAR: Defending Champion Punjab University, University of Lahore, University Central Punjab and Iqra University Karachi took berth into the semi-finals after defeating their respective rivals in the ongoing HEC All Pakistan Inter-University Women Badminton Championship being played here at PSB Coaching Center on Friday.

In the first match defending Champion Punjab defeated Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University by 2-0. In the first singles Aqsa of Punjab University recorded victory against Ambar of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University by 21-06 and 21-8. And in the doubles Aqsa and Kainaat defeated Ambar and Momina by 2-0, the score was 21-11 and 21-06. In the second quarter-final University of Lahore defeated LUMS University Lahore by  2-0. In the first singles Nadia defeated Aqsa by 21-17 and 21-10 and in the doubles Nadia and Maaryum beat Aqsa and Alia by 21-13 and 21-13. In the third quarter-final University of Central Punjab Lahore beat Lahore College for Women by 2-0. Yaskeen of UCP defeated Hooria of Lahore College for Women by 21-17 and 21-18 and in the doubles Remsha and Yasmeen beat Hooria and Samreen by 21-16, 21-18. In the fourth quarter-final Iqra University Karachi overpowered Bahuddin Zikria University Multan by 2-0. In the first singles Sana of Iqra University defeated Aqsa Khan by 21-16 and 21-19 in a thrilling match and in the doubles Sana and Iqra Kanwal beat Afshan and Rukshar by 3-
