Public service versus giant of corruption

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has successfully launched a GIS-based Centralized Urban Immovable Property Tax Management and Information System (CUIPTMIS) to transform the whole property tax regime into an automated, transparent, and robust mechanism. As said, the initiative is an important step towards enhancing tax collection, improving the management of public resources, and facilitating taxpayers in the province.

According to the report, the newly launched Management and Information System (MIS) has been completed at a total cost of Rs 95.898 million. Initially, the project was launched for two districts of the province; Nowshera and Abbottabad, and would soon be replicated in the rest of the districts of the province.

Historically, nature blessed Pakistan with great pro-publica and nation’s saviours in the case of caretaker leaders, particularly in the center, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab as well. The incumbent Caretaker leaders have not only held peaceful and smooth elections in the country but reset the trajectory of the national economy and made remarkable progress in diverse fields of governance and administration.

Previously, the KP interim government launched a province-wide initiative for service delivery, monitoring, and regulation of the government departments including the Police, Patwar, local authorities, and health and education sectors. Presently, they have come up with a digitized revenue system to facilitate government as well as the public, which is amazing and appreciable. As said the newly developed system will not only improve tax collection and management mechanisms but also facilitate the taxpayers through the provision of integrated online tax payment and grievances redress mechanisms.

In fact, the majority of Pakistani leaders were patriots and always endeavoured for the development of the country and the well-being of the public. Unfortunately, they failed in dealing with Bureaucracy and curbing institutional corruption, which enormously marred the national development and zeroed some all gains achieved over the past decades.

Wherein corrupt government servants foiled all sane legislation, regulations, and monitoring mechanisms together with CCTV cameras and digitization. The KP government has implemented diverse strategies in all walks of life in the past few months. Hence, they are requested to diagnose this long-held glitch and bring forth such a mechanism that has no human element altogether. So, robots and artificial intelligence deal in Taxation, calculate money, and submit to the national exchequer, otherwise dishonest elements and corrupt practices tactfully deceive the cameras and misguide computers making all arrangments null and void. Although, the puzzle is very simple but its solution has not been discovered so far.
