F.P. Report
LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced an ambitious plan for the upcoming academic year, aiming to increase student admissions by 10% across all schools in the region.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to expand access to education and improve literacy rates in the province.
Currently, Punjab’s schools are home to approximately 1.5 million students. With the new directive, an additional 110,000 children are expected to be admitted in the forthcoming academic year.
This significant increase in admissions is a testament to the government’s commitment to education.
The Punjab Education Foundation has set an even higher target for its schools, aiming to admit 500,000 children.
This bold move underscores the Foundation’s dedication to providing quality education to as many children as possible.
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, will launch the admission campaign. All schools are required to meet their admission targets by October 31, 2024, as per the instructions issued by the Punjab government.
This initiative aims to enhance educational equity in Punjab by increasing access to education, thereby empowering the next generation for the province’s development.
